Odisha achieved a hat-trick of wins in the Inter-State Senior Womens T20 League, demolishing Tripura by eight wickets in their third Plate Group-C match at TI Murugappa Ground in Chennai today. Captain Madhusmita Behera starred in the emphatic win, hitting a 53-ball 45.
Chasing a modest target of 111, Odisha romped home with 10 balls to spare, losing only two wickets in the process. Madhusmita and Madhuri Meheta made the chase easy, compiling 61 runs for the opening wicket. Madhuri hit a 33-ball 32, while her Bolangir district-mate Sarita Meher contributed an unbeaten 25.
Earlier opting to bat, Tripura could make 110 for six in the stipulated 20 overs despite a 76-run partnership for the opening wicket between Mouchaity Debnath and Indra Rani Jamatia. Rasanara Parwin was the most successful Odisha bowler, taking two wickets for 21. Odisha will next meet Chhattisgarh tomorrow.
